The Manhattan High School basketball team hosted Hayden last Friday in a 59-41 win in dominant fashion on senior night.
In the first quarter MHS showed up and knocked down their first five shots to go up 12-2 within five minutes of the game. Manhattan continued to dominate the first half with the help of Jack Wilson’s 16-point first half performance while knocking down two from deep and dominating the paint. Going into the half Manhattan was up 41-11. In the third quarter MHS would still put up sufficient numbers and still hold a lead of 20 with a quarter left. Going into the fourth Coach Benji George subbed out the seniors as they were given a standing ovation for their last regular season home game. To finish off the game Manhattan battled and finished the game with a 59-41 win.
“It meant a lot to play here and as one of my last home games ever it was very emotional and to have such a supportive student section and parents it means a lot.” Wilson said
Manhattan’s next game will be against Wichita South East on Tuesday Feb. 28.
