Manhattan High School has announced plans for a new Oak Street parking lot.
The parking lot will add 80-90 spaces for student parking and serve as an additional entrance and exit for the school. The area will be directly connected to the west entrance (door 9), allowing easy accessibility for students.
“Right now, we are waiting for the city to approve the complete plan,” Principal Michael Dorst said. “[The project] will make [the Oak Street Lot] a continuous parking lot and there will be an additional entrance and exit.”
The extended parking will offer much relief to the congested parking situation at Manhattan High. While a timeline for construction has not been released, students can expect the project to be underway in the near future.
