After two years of hiatus, Mr. MHS has come back to Manhattan High School.
In 2021, Student Council decided to cancel Mr. MHS, saying that there weren’t enough signups.
They re-branded for the following year, calling it the MHS Pageant to allow both girls and boys to participate that year.
This year they decided to revert back to tradition, returning to the Mr MHS name and only allowing junior and senior boys to participate.
“Mr. MHS has been a longtime tradition here at MHS,” senior StuCo President Allina Dougherty said. “It has always really been this big show in the past and I think we can do that again this year.”
Sign-ups were released earlier this month, with the cutoff for applications on Oct. 23rd. Auditions are Wednesday and Thursday of this week right after school in Rezac Auditorium.
“We’ve got a lot of big ideas,” Dougherty said. “Don’t want to give you any spoilers but I’m very excited for what we’ve got going this year.”
