Manhattan High Bowling was a top finisher in several tournaments so far this season.
Both boys and girls took second at Little Apple Lanes on Monday against Junction City and Sacred Heart. Varsity boys scored 2,442 behind Junction City’s score of 2,520. The girls scored 2,080 as a team to follow Junction City’s 2,353.
“I think as a team we did very well,” senior Jayden Moreno said.

The top individual on the boys’ side was sophomore Kael Stock with 631 for third place. Nathan DeArmond was in fifth place with a score of 595. Freshman Cortlynn Millington won the girls’ side with an individual score of 715, the only MHS girl in the top five.
In their first home meet on Feb. 3, the girls took first and the boys took second.
“It’s nice to be at home and not have to travel as much,” senior Ryan Heitmann said.
Sandwiched in between the home meets, the Indians had a quad on Feb. 6 against Junction City, Solomon and Washington County.
“I think the fair part is the team bonding for sure, and not letting each other down,” Moreno said. “No matter what happens.”
