Golf continues strong season, working towards improvement

Following their second place finish at the Centennial League tournament on Monday, the varsity golf team finished third yesterday one stroke behind Seaman.
The tournament was forecast to have rain, but the rain subsided until the end of the tournament.
“It was pouring rain for just about everyone’s last hole, actually one group didn’t even finish but the weather didn’t really affect [his game] besides that one hole,” senior Pierson McAtee said.
Despite the weather holding out through the tournament, there was still room to improve.
“[My] Chipping and putting was not up to par. But you got to look at it that not everyone played their best yesterday,” Mcatee said. “We’re closing the gap to compete highly at regionals and at state.”
The golf team will next be competing Monday at the Emporia invitational.
