Venturing out to Seaman and Shawnee Mission East this past weekend, the Manhattan High Forensics team competed to continue their rise of success.
At Seaman on Friday, the only placement was sophomore Martina Hernandez, who won third in Poetry Interpretation.

“It was a nice opportunity to spend time with friends in the Flint Hills area on Friday,” coach Ben Sutherland said, “and to check out the really strong competition in the Kansas City area … it was a good learning weekend for all of us, I think.”
Manhattan had three students place in Shawnee on Saturday. Sophomores Lily Colburn earned third in Informative while Douglas Kim double placed sixth in Impromptu and Prose. Senior Caitlin Rusk was the final student that broke, earning third place in Prose.

“We did better this weekend than last,” Colburn said. “We were more focused and better prepared … individually we did a good job.”
