Make most of high school experience

Kristen Batson, Print Editor-In-Chief

As much as teenagers like to complain about high school and how awful it is, this is what it comes down to: we have four years. Four years to prepare ourselves for life away from home, four years to make memories to last a lifetime and make the hard work and sleep deprivation worth it, four years to discover what we’re passionate about and hope to accomplish.

My first two were kind of a bust. I mean, they were a learning experience for sure, but I would’ve done some things differently. Thankfully it’s never too late to find something you love. I ended up in Digital Media Design & Production because I had the room in my schedule since I, praise the Lord, no longer needed a physical education class. I had no idea how much I’d grow to love this publication and staff. It’s such an incredible feeling to find a little niche you fit into, especially at a new school.

So here’s my advice to the incoming freshman, the loner, the slacker and anyone just looking for something new; join a club, try something different, branch out. It’s amazing how happy you can be when you try.
