Gage Mingo , Staff Writer
When senior staff writer Gage Mingo saw “Digital Media Publication Design” on his schedule, he was confused. He didn’t sign up for it, so he really had no reason to be there. He was planning on dropping the class, but as soon as he got to the classroom, something changed his mind.
“I was trying to step out of my comfort zone,” Mingo said. “It’s to make myself more interactive with people and make new connections.”
Besides pursuing personal goals, Mingo is excited to spend time with the many friends who are also on staff with him. He also wants to explore the technological aspects of journalism.
“I’m trying new things to help write stories,” Mingo said. “I’m excited for the prospect of being an actual reporter. Before I was all technology.”
Although he came to staff almost entirely be accident, he is choosing to stay on purpose. When Mingo isn’t hanging out with his other friends on staff, he can be found working as a staff writer for both The Mentor and the Blue M Yearbook.
