John Rockey, Senior Staff Writer
So people tend to call me by my full name, John Rockey, because there’s some kind of ring to it. There’s only a key in it though. (I’m funny) But enough of that.
I’m a senior staff writer and photographer on staff and have been since sophomore year and this year is my first year to work on the yearbook staff as well. My role is as a weekend warrior, if you will, when it comes to sports and news. I take pride in my sportswriting and the photography I bring in for all activities at Manhattan High.
I’m a football player. Not the best. But I love it anyways. I’ve thrown shot put and javelin for a few years in track. Otherwise, that’s all of the sports I actually do.
I’m unnaturally in love with chemistry and I’m dedicated to learning foreign languages, to travel and see the world. I get to practice my Spanish when I work at McDonald’s, where the motto is “If you don’t know Spanish, you will learn Spanish really fast.”
Not even exaggerating.
Outside of school, football, newspaper and work, I will take every opportunity to hang out with friends and find places to just eat food till I burst. I love my two dogs, Jordy and Tebow, to pieces. I read every opportunity possible and complain that I don’t read enough. I enjoy watching the Chiefs play and want to go to a Chiefs game so badly. And the greatest joy in my life is trying to make people laugh. Or otherwise laugh so hard, I fall out of my chair and keep laughing.
That’s it for me. Now read a book so you can properly enlighten yourself.
Wishing you hugs and chocolate
