Otis Mazurkiewicz, Staff Writer
Junior Otis Mazurkiewicz is a first-year staff writer. He joined journalism because he wanted “to be part of the high school newspaper.”
Some of Mazurkiewicz’s favorite classes are Drama, Marching Band and AP Lang. In his spare time you can find him cleaning his house or spending time with family. Mazurkiewicz also likes distance running. His fastest time on a 5k is 21:30.
“I like to run, listen to music and walk my dog,” Mazurkiewicz said.
He plans to continue running in the future because he likes “the [calm] feeling at the end.”
Mazurkiewicz sees himself going to Kansas State and studying journalism or architecture. His dream in the future is to travel the world and work in a different country as an architect. He is inspired by his mom and his grandfather.
“My role model is my grandfather because he is very supportive and caring. He makes people feel at home,” he said.
Mazurkiewicz offers a bit of advice for freshmen.
“Always carry something to store notes in and buy a planner,” he said.
